Good morning. I have been tasked with performing an analysis on our installation of 4Site for an upcoming project that involves changes to our Active Directory structure, a change from our current userid scheme to using an employee id userid, and a Microsoft Exchange server upgrade. I need to identify any impact, if any, these will have on our 4Site installation. I have several questions I was wondering if you could assist me with. First, does 4Site use AD for authentication? (I believe it does as we define new 4Site users by matching 4Site userids with their Windows network ids). Does 4Site use AD groups for security groupings (I believe not). What email services does 4Site use when you switch from using 4Site Messaging to "Send Messages using Microsoft Compatible Messaging". Is it using a connection to MS Exchange (I dont think so as I see no place to define those parameters) or is it using SMTP or some other service? Does 4Site use "service accounts"? Are any AD groups or users actually coded in the application itself? Is the database accessed via AD? I needed to confirm too that data is stored against the userid. Our project team also needs to know if the userid is displayed on the screen and if it is, is it possible to modify the application to display the user name instead?
