Missing opening balances in GL Report

Symptoms:
1660 Customer tried to close year end and got a message that no fiscal period rows were created for revenue / expenses / dividend accounts. The year end process did not complete. 1690 An account referenced on an asset type in the Asset Depreciation application was deleted. 1675 I printed out the January 2007 General Ledger report however it does not include balances for various accounts (accounts receivable, fixed assets, etc...). It doesn't appear to be including the opening balances.
Solution:
1660 We now check for the existence of totals for revenue / expenses / dividend accounts. If none exist, continue the year end process but skip those types of accounts. A JV with no lines will be created. 1690 The Account application has been changed to check for references on an asset type before allowing deletion. 1675 Revised database procedure to pick up balances from latest closed year and accumulate totals for subsequent periods.
