03357 -
Ghost problems copying or moving equipment.
03355 -
Equipment can't be deleted because of transactions
Symptoms:
Request 3357: When temporarily moving Equipment to a new location, the system leaves the Ghost at the prior location, but also causes the Hierarchy to completely loop under the Ghost. Also, the Equipment icon shows up under a Work Order created using a cost center, sometimes as Inactive and sometimes as Active. It does not have an Equipment Number associated with it, just the Equipment Description. Request 3355: Will not allow Equipment deletion of new entries. Shows 'Transaction Exists for Equipment'. Several different Equipment Numbers were tried. Also applies to Systems and Locations.
Solution:
Request 3357: This problem is a result of deleting the SYSTEM format. The temporary move functionality requires a SYSTEM format to assign the ghost an identifier and does not cope very well when it is missing. This resulted in an Ghost with no identifier, which is an unexpected and unhandled situation in other Equipment processing, such as the Work Order example above. A temporary move will now require the user to explicitly provide an Equipment identifier for the Ghost when no SYSTEM format is available for automatic key assignment. Request 3355 Patch 50.039.058, Request 3167 added a check to for G/L transactions to the equipment delete option. In some cases, this check would identify the presence of transactions when there were none. This has been corrected in this patch.
